Built by a business aviation captain.
Galley is the crew app for business aviation pilots and cabin crew. Arnthor Birgisson builds it, and Askja Aviation S.L. in Marbella, Spain, runs it.
Arnthor Birgisson
Arnthor is a business aviation captain and the founder of Galley.
“Every trip meant the same juggling: is this legal, what's the per diem here, where's the crew hotel, who else is in town. Galley is the app I wanted in my own pocket, so I built it.”Arnthor, founder · Business aviation captain
Where Galley's jobs, rules and weather come from
Jobs
Galley reads crew ads from operators' own careers pages and recruiting systems. Operators and crew agencies can also post jobs in Galley, and Galley labels each agency ad “Agency”.
Galley refreshes the board every hour and reads each source about once a day. Its reader identifies itself as GalleyJobsBot, follows each site's robots.txt, sends at most one request a second to a site and never works around a login, CAPTCHA or bot check.
Galley removes recruiters' names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers, and shows pay exactly as the ad states it, or “Pay not stated”.
Each ad shows when it was posted and when Galley last checked it on the operator's site. Apply on the operator's own site, or with your Galley card where the job is posted in Galley.
Operators can ask Galley to take their ads down, with the takedown form or by e-mail. Galley removes them, usually the same day, and doesn't import them again.
Flight time limitations (FTL)
Galley's FTL check covers EASA ORO.FTL and CS FTL.1 (Regulation (EU) No 965/2012 as amended by Regulation (EU) No 83/2014), the UK CAA's ORO.FTL, FAA Part 117, FAA Part 135 (§135.267) and EU-OPS Subpart Q.
In October 2026 Galley compared every number and rule in each scheme with the official text: EUR-Lex, the EASA Easy Access Rules, the eCFR and the national texts. Every correction has a test that cites the paragraph.
Where Galley doesn't check a rule yet, the app says “Not checked yet”. Your operator's approved OM-A and your authority have the final word.
If your operator connects Leon, Galley shows Leon's own FTL figures and warnings instead of its own.
Weather and NOTAMs
METARs and TAFs come from aviationweather.gov (NOAA), and NOTAMs from Aviation Edge. The point forecast on the airport weather screen comes from Deutscher Wetterdienst (MOSMIX), and US ground stops and delays from the FAA's NAS Status.
Galley alerts you when the forecast gets worse or better.
Per diems
Galley's per diem tables come from each country's official texts:
- Spain: the BOE and the Agencia Tributaria
- Sweden: Skatteverket
- Germany: the BMF and § 9 EStG
- Norway: Skatteetaten
- Denmark: Skattestyrelsen
- Finland: Vero
- Iceland: Skatturinn
- Portugal: the Diário da República
- United Kingdom: HMRC
- Ireland: Revenue
- France: BOSS, BOFiP and Légifrance
- United States: the IRS
In the Netherlands and Switzerland, you enter your own tax-free amount. Your tax adviser has the final word.
